Dyson's Diary
24th Feb 2008.
I was adopted about 6 weeks ago and now that I've settled in I've got time to write about my new life.
It was all a bit of a shock at first and I was a real scaredy cat but now I'm just a bit of a wimp sometimes. I'm being very good about going to the toilet outside and I'm walking nicely on the lead and eating all my food up. The only down side is that I wake up a bit early and I feel lonely so I let my lady and my man know that I want some company and one of them (usually the lady) comes down stairs to give me some attention. Then we have a nice time wandering around the garden so that I can settle a bit on my bed before breakfast.
I have 2 beds - one in my special corner so that I can see everything that's going on in the kitchen and look out of the window up the drive to see any arrivals, and the other one in the lounge near the fire so that in the evenings we can all watch TV and laze around. It's a bit of a shame when it's 10 pm and my man wants to take me out for a walk before we all go to bed!!
We go out for a walk every morning at about 7.30 am and then again in the afternoon about 2.30 pm. It's all very interesting and there's lots to smell. I often see white fluttery things that make me excited but then they turn out to be old carrier bags that have blown into the hedges!! A bit disappointing really. Sometimes we drive out in the car to go for a walk somewhere else. I like it in the car, I lay on a duvet and look out of the back window, if it looks exciting I stand up but then I get told that I have to lay down again - so I do that to keep them happy!!
It's been a bit chilly during the night this winter so my lady made me some lovely fleecy jimjams - what a difference they've made. She bought me 2 super coats to go out walking in, they were a tiny bit big as she didn't know my size then, but her friend adjusted them to fit and I look really smart when we go out. Lots of people comment when they meet me. This friend has become my Aunty Susan and is going to make me a new coat for spring; it's going to be in denim with a pink fleece lining!! My man says he's not taking me out in a coat with a pink lining but my lady will take me in it. I don't mind looking trendy!! Aunty Susan is in Spain at the moment and she sent a postcard - addressed to ME. I'm very honoured; I sent her a photo of me in my new jimjams!!
This is me in my new jimjams!!
